Signs Your Windows Need To Be Repaired

Posted on January 7, 2020

Some window issues are not as obvious as others. If the window gets shattered, it’s obvious a new window is needed, but it may not always be that obvious. The following are a few subtle issues you may experience that signal it’s time for a repair.

1. You Feel a Draft

If you are indoors on a hot summer day with the AC blasting but don’t feel any air circulating, there could be a problem with the windows.  Faulty windows can also be the reason for a draft on a cold winter day.  In either case, you have outdoor air on the inside of your building, which is a sign you should have the windows repaired.

2. You Can’t Open or Shut the Windows

If you have a hard time opening or shutting the windows, it could be time to get them repaired. Your windows are made to easily slide up and down or from side to side. If they get stuck and you have to apply extra force, it could cause the glass or the frame to break.

3. The Windows Have Built-Up Condensation

If your commercial windows are double-paned and there is condensation on the inside, that’s a sign the seal has broken. This means your windows won’t insulate the way they’re supposed to. It also makes the windows cloudy so they’re not enjoyable to look through. If you find yourself with a fogged unit, it’s time to replace it altogether.
